Building a site in DXE works best when following a workflow. Although any step can be visited and adjusted at any time, learning to think and build in the order suggested below will help get the best results.

- Theme - Apply items from the brand to the basic outline of the site to create the look and feel.
- Component Library - View and test how different elements look and behave with your theme settings.
- Image guide - See the most compatible image sizes/aspect ratios for various content.
- Content types - Fill your site with content simply and easily using a handful of predefined templates.
- Blocks - Create reusable elements that can be embedded in multiple places, but easily managed in one spot.
- User management - Define who has access to view and/or create material for your site.
